FAQ

Before
I get it, there’s so much to consider before committing to an artist for your next tattoo. Here’s some common questions & answers to put your mind at ease.
Absolutely! I love meeting with my clients (both new & returning) before booking a tattoo session. This gives us a chance to get to know each other (or catch up), discuss your design vision in person, and answer any questions.
The initial tattoo consultation is free. However, if you would like to book a second consultation (for example, to review art work) there is a $25 fee.
The length of our consultation can range from 10 – 60 minutes depending on several factors such as the detail of the design, placement suggestions, conversation, and more. I typically schedule consultations for an hour.
An open mind, placement ideas, and reference photos. Also, be prepared that I may want to take a photo of the placement for design reference. A non-refundable $100 deposit is required to book your tattoo appointment.
A $100 deposit is required to secure your tattoo appointment. The deposit is non-refundable and is taken off the total at the end of your appointment. It can be rolled over for a future appointment.
Please view the gallery to see my unique style. I enjoy blackwork, dot work, and lifework & particularly love to tattoo geometric designs, mandalas, and botanicals. That being said, I’m open to making your vision come true. Bring your idea to me and let’s see what we can co-create!
I will have your tattoo design ready for you the day of your appointment. There will be plenty of time to make any adjustments if necessary before we start your tattoo session. Adjustments will not be charged. I’m happy to schedule a second consultation for a $25 fee if you would like to see your design before the day of your appointment.

During
Getting tattooed is more than beautiful, forever art… it’s an experience. Let’s give you the self-care body art session you deserve.
I recommend getting a good night’s rest and eating a nourishing meal before your tattoo session.
I recommend bringing your favorite snacks & non-alcoholic beverages. Something with a little sugar can help ease the body’s adrenaline response but protein is also a wonderful way to go. No worries, if you do forget snacks and drinks, we have a variety of munchies and cold beverages for you at Oracle.
Sometimes the studio can get a little cold. Feel free to bring your own pillows or blankets from home. Anything that makes you feel comfortable!
I will greet you when you arrive and get you checked in for your appointment. I’ll then lead you back to my station where we will size and place the tattoo stencil. Next, we’ll get to tattooing! I want to make sure you are as comfortable as possible throughout your session and am always happy to take a break & assist you to the best of my ability.
Once the tattoo session is complete, I will likely want to take a couple of photos. After a brief photo session, I will place a bandage on your new tattoo and send you home with an aftercare sheet.
Absolutely! I want you to feel comfortable and empowered to express your needs. I’m always happy to take a break if needed!
Yes, simply request this bandage at your tattoo session.
I typically like to take photos at the end of a tattoo session and may post them on social media, my newsletter, or my website.

After
Now that you’re at home relaxing, I want you to have peace of mind knowing how to best care for your new tattoo.
Aftercare instructions can change depending on the type of bandage you receive. I will go over specific aftercare instructions with you verbally at your appointment and will also send you home with a written sheet.
Generally, if you would like a second skin bandage I recommend keeping it on for 3 days after your tattoo. These bandages are water resistant but not water proof. After removing the bandage (warm water and a downward motion can help with this), wash your new tattoo with a non-scented liquid antibacterial soap 2-3 times per day for 2 days.
If you prefer not to have the second skin bandage, I usually suggest removing the plastic bandage 3 hours after our appointment and washing your new tattoo with a non-scented liquid antibacterial soap. Continue to wash your new tattoo 2-3 times per day for 3 days.
After several days, you may experience some itchiness which is completely normal. Do not itch your new tattoo. Keep it moisturized with a water based lotion, a thin layer of coconut oil (reserved for topical use only – not your kitchen coconut oil jar), or a thin layer of my nourishing herbal infused tattoo aftercare salve called Body Art Balm.
Regardless of the type of bandage you receive there are three important rules to keep in mind:
1. no soaking your new tattoo for at least 2 weeks (ie. no baths, swimming pools, river/camping trips, hot tubs, etc.)
2. no direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks (and then use sunscreen whenever out in the sun)
3. keep your new tattoo clean! Wash your new tattoo with a non-scented liquid antibacterial soap (especially if you suspect it got dirty), wear clean & loose clothing, and give your body the time it needs to heal <3
Healing time is extremely variable and dependent on many factors including overall health, following specific aftercare instructions, the part of the body that was tattooed, lifework vs. shading/color, and more.
Please note that redness, swelling, and itchiness are all normal stages of the healing process. If you have any questions, please contact me over the Contact Form.
I guarantee my work and want you to be 100% satisfied with your new body art! Because of this, I offer an initial complimentary touch up. If additional touch ups are needed, there is a small set up fee but no additional charges.
Sometimes touch ups are necessary and this is completely normal. Depending on the placement, more touch ups may be needed (for example fingers & hands). However, I am also human and can occasionally put a line in too light. No biggie, come back in and have me touch it up for free!
Yes! If you loved your experience with me then tell your friends! If 1 friend comes in to get tattooed, your next tattoo is 10% off up to $500. If 5 friends come in to get tattooed, your next tattoo is free up to $500!
